WhatsApp now allows you to send any file type; experiments with Group descriptions

Expanding the file types to send as attachments is not the only feature that is rolling out in this update. Now, users can swipe up in the in-app camera to see all the photos and videos available in the smartphone gallery. Earlier you could only see one strip of recent images and scroll through that to find the photo you are trying to send or select ‘Gallery’ in the attachment options. The company has also added text-styling options to select whatever you typing and then long pressing the selection to invoke the contextual menu and apply the kind of style that you want in your photo. Lastly, WhatsApp has updated the design for its video calling interface along with voice calls.
Wow. Finally a description for groups (similar to “About”)! Details and other screenshots.
WhatsApp is also working on a new feature in the beta versions of the app. This new feature brings ‘Group descriptions’ to WhatsApp groups so that it is easier for users to differentiate different groups that may look identical in terms of names. The functionality is available as a hidden feature on Beta versions of Android where only Group Administrators can modify the description.
